Today when I was searching the web I found a website that does something that I was working on. This site is…http://platial.com/

This site allows you to find restaurants, hotels, parks, bars, hostpitals, etc…even people!! This site uses your location to know where you are and then returns whatever you are looking for. It’s amazing…and has great accuracy. Try it yourself…

There is also an iPhone App for all of you iPhone fans! :p

Sony PS3 motion controller

“Sony just announced the rumored new motion controller for the PS3 — the prototype looks like a wand with a color-changing ball on top. It’s designed to work in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye, with the wand overlaid on-screen with a weapon or tool. Unlike Microsoft’s Project Natal, Sony says they’ve learned “some experiences need buttons,” which is why there’s still a controller involved. The system is said to be “sub-millimeter” precise, and it was demoed drawing and playing a shooter — it’s sort of the middle ground between Natal and Wii Motion Plus. Sony says it’ll launch in the spring of 2010, but we don’t know what pricing will be like yet.” by Engadget

Well this is not as spectacular as the post I made before at first view but it will probably have more future in the video games industry than Project Natal. But that’s just my opinion.

Don’t know if you like games or not but as a fanatic of technology I had to make this post. Recently in E3 Microsoft presented a technology that, in a very near future, will provide “controller-less” technology to all players. Imagine a camera that recognizes people, not only one but multiple people. It recognizes voice too…

Second Place in Portuguese Imagine Cup 2009

Last tuesday, 19th of May, me and my team were selected to go to the final in Portugal and we got the second place. It was a great result but I think we could have won the competion.

Our project is named Sharing Spot and it’s a social network where people can share objects that they don’t need anymore but that can be very important to other people. To enter the competition we had to do a video expressing our idea to this project. The video link is presented above. All the intervenients in the movie are the team members. All good actors…

Our project consists in three points: a web application in silverlight, a PDA application and a Windows Live Messenger add-in.

The web application allows users to add, edit, search and remove obje.cts. To get users to use our site we add the Windows Live Web Bar so every user from the MSN community can enter our site without problems. This web bar lets users from the MSN community comunicate with each other, even if they’re not friends. This fact allows our network to function globally. The website is currently under development but it’s already in an advanced prototype state. You can trty it. Just go to http://193.136.66.172/SharingSpot/SharingSpot.aspx.

The PDA version is available for download in the website to signed in users. The PDA version lets users do the same things that the web application does.

The Windows Live Messenger add-in lets users add objects to the site and share them with their friends in the windows live messenger client.

Experiment this application and tekk us your opinion so we can improve it.

Hello to everyone!

This is the hello world post. Each and everyone of you have seen these all across the blogosphere. My blog is not diferent.

So now you are thinking…”what the hell is this blog about?”. Well, the answer to your question is EVERYTHING!!!

well, maybe not everything. But certainly everything that I am interested in. So I will be blogging about technology, gadgets and my own projects…hope this will be usel to all of you as I think it will.
